    A garden designated as a special place of scenic beauty also known as the "national treasure of gardens"
    Ritsurin Garden is the largest garden of all the daimyo gardens designated as the nation's special place of scenic beauty. Within the spacious grounds you can find ponds and artificial hills, and is celebrated in the Japanese phrase, ippo ikkei, or one step, one view, describing how walking through the garden you can enjoy a change of scenery with every step. There are various facilities within the garden including Commerce and Industry Promotion Hall, where they introduce the history and culture of Ritsurin Garden, and display traditional crafts, and Kikugetsutei Teahouse, where you can enjoy drinking different kinds of green tea while gazing at the beautiful scenery.

    One of the "Three Great Water Castles of Japan" located along the Seto Inland Sea
    A nationally designated historic site. It is a park built on the grounds of Takamatsu Castle ruins. Sea breams swim in the moat, which draws water from the Seto Inland Sea. You can experience feeding the fish and also enjoy a ride on a sightseeing boat. There are many other attractions including yagura turrets and Hiunkaku designated as important cultural properties, as well as a beautiful Japanese garden.

    Hanazawa Myoshunen fascinates visitors with a wide range of Bonsai
    Hanazawa Myoshunen is located in the Kinashi/Kokubunji area of Takamatsu city, which is one of the largest producers of Bonsai. Visitors will be able to enjoy finding their favorite Bonsai from a wide variety of bonsai, including bonsai painstakingly crafted from evergreens and other materials, and adorable bonsai shaped like hearts and stars made by a technique called "hariganekake", where you wrap a wire around the trunk and/or a branch to create a tree shape.

    A tourist destination in Busshozan, a nostalgic old-fashioned temple town
    Honenji Temple is a family temple of Takamatsu Matsudaira. It is a burial ground for the feudal lord who built the Takamatsu Castle and Ritsurin Garden and his family. The path within the ground is lined with stone lanterns as though they are protecting its lord. The Sanbutsudo main hall enshrines a rare statue of the Buddha lying down. The five tiered pagoda, completed in 2011 by modern　carpenters specializing in temples/shrines, is also worth seeing.
