World Fresh Water Aquarium Aqua Toto Gifu

One of the world's largest freshwater fish aquariums, with national/international pride.
The theme is ‘from the headstream to the estuary of the Kiso and Nagara Rivers and freshwater fish from around the world’.

Gifu Castle

Mountain castle associated with Lord Saito Dosan and Lord Oda Nobunaga.
Gifu Castle is an existing castle with the high altitude (329 meters). From the top floor, you can see the clear stream of Nagara River, famous for cormorant fishing, flowing through the city, and the magnificent mountains, Mt. Ena and Mt. Kiso Ontake in the east, Mt. Norikura and Japanese Alps in the north. Additionally, you can see mountains in the west, Mt. Ibuki, Mt. Yoro and Mt. Suzuka, the abundant sweeping plains in the south, Nobi Plains, and the stream of Kiso River leisurely flowing into Ise Bay.

National Treasure Inuyama Castle

The famous castle was a stage for battles in Sengoku Period.
The National Treasure Inuyama Castle was built by Oda Nobuyasu, the uncle of Oda Nobunaga, in 1537 during the Muromachi Period.
Inuyama Castle has the oldest existing keep in Japan, locating at the pivot of the alluvial fan of Nobi Plains, with the truly spectacular view from the top floor of the keep. The periphery of the castle has the Kiso River, the old town of Inuyama Castle Town, and many tourist facilities including Meijimura. Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Ieyasu respectively possessed Inuyama Castle in the respective era to pave the way of the ruler of the nation.
